Cobb County Water Stewardship T-Shirt Design | Competition Winner for 2024
The Cobb County Water System Water Stewardship held a competition among the Advertising and Packaging design class from Kennesaw State University to design a t-shirt for their volunteers for the 2024 year. Each year, the Cobb County Water Stewardship features a quote. The quote selected for 2024 is, “Always be on the lookout for the presence of wonder” by E.B. White. The client asked the students to create a design that showcases local species in Georgia.
This design takes inspiration from the quote that there is beauty in nature and in exploring the unknown, if one simply takes the time to look for it. The design features several animals and insects native to Georgia, including the Eastern Box Turtle, Barking Tree Frog, and Baltimore Checkerspot Butterfly. Surrounding these creatures are a few Chalk Maple leaves. The quote’s placement flows and moves with the stream of water, emphasizing certain words to stand out to the viewer.
The purpose of this design is not only to inspire volunteers to join a helpful cause but also to showcase what they aim to conserve and protect. While the Cobb County Watershed Stewardship focuses on saving water and the rivers’ and streams’ health, the water also impacts its surrounding environment, animals, and people. The design incorporates Georgia-native species, which connects with the program’s mission of protecting its environmental health. It inspires future generations to conserve its beauty.
After a round of voting among the board and volunteers, this T-shirt design was declared the winner and used for the 2024 year.
